What is the avarage growth period of a human hair?

I wanted to know as to what is the growth period or our hair? Does it rests or keep on growing?

    One an avarage our hair grows for somewhere around 1000 days and then it rests for 100 days. I am sure this is accurate data in terms of hair growth.
