    A few of the strength workouts for runners are mentioned below. One of the best workout for the runners is warm up. No matter whether you are running for a short distance or for a long distance you need some training for your sport.

    Strength Workouts
    A few of the strength workouts that helps out in the development of muscle are mentioned below.

      Warm up

    • Skipping could be another exercise that helps in strengthening your muscles. Skipping helps to strengthen your calf muscles and good improvement the shin bone.
    • Exercises

      • There are a few exercises that involves a lot of stretching exercises. A few of the exercises like bicep curls, side bends and triceps extensions helps you to remain fit.
      • While doing these bicep and triceps extensions you need have a proper training. When you do not have proper training then you might have to face a lot of problems.

      Pyramid workouts

      • You need be very attentive when you are going for pyramid workouts. Even though pyramid running might be too strenuous but helps in strengthening your muscles. You might have to face severe pains in your calf muscles when you go for pyramid running.
      • Most of the experts suggest runners to go for pyramid running only for about a few minutes. You can go up the pyramid for a minute and come back down the pyramid for a minute or so.
      • When you become familiar with pyramid running then you can go for a longer period of time.

      Hill running

      • Hill running includes both running up hill and running down the hill. Hill running is similar to that of pyramid running. When you run up hill then you might face some pain in the calf muscles and knees. But your muscles can be relaxed when you go for down hill running.

      Rotations

      • Both leg and arm rotations can help out for the hard workouts. When you go for heavy workouts then you need to do rotations for prevention of cramps and pains.

      Back movements

      • Back movements are helpful in relieving your pains. This also helps in maintaining good flexibility in your body. This is considered as a strength workouts as it helps get some stamina while doing exercises that are involved in movements.
      • Body weight squats can also be helpful for your running events.
