    Pollen Tolerance Level for Allergies

suryaBy suryaSeptember 16, 2010012 Mins Read

What is your pollen tolerance level. This article will attempt to clarify what pollen tolerance level means and how you can measure it.

When you suffer from an allergy to pollen, you will get symptoms such as rash, runny nose or cough, from exposure to pollen particles in the air. These are symptoms of the allergy caused by the allergen which is pollen.

    What is Pollen Tolerance Level?

Pollen tolerance is the amount of pollen in the air you can stand before you get symptoms of allergy. This is measured according to how much pollen there is in a cubic meter of air. This will use the amount of pollen grains as a measure.

What Amounts of Pollen cause Symptoms for People with Allergies?

    – To know how much pollen one can inhale before getting symptoms, it is necessary to know how many pollen grains one can handle in one cubic meter of air.

    – Some people get effects of allergy from as little amount of pollen particles as 15 grains per cubic meter of air.

    – Other people with pollen allergy can be more able to tolerate pollen and not have effects of allergy until the pollen count in cubic meter of air is up to 15,000 grains.

    – Allergic reactions are more likely to occur on warm days with breeze. On days that are cold and rainy, it is less likely that allergy symptoms will occur. This is because rain and cold are not good for making pollen travel through the air. Hot and breezy weather, however, is ideal for pollen to be able to travel through the air, often for long distances.

This is how pollen count affects allergic people. It is possible to avoid allergic reactions by taking the pollen count into consideration when leaving the house.
