    Symptoms of Cerebrovascular Conditions

    8.2 million people in the United States suffer from cerebrovascular conditions. There are three types of these conditions. They are cerebral thrombosis (40 percent cases), cerebral embolism (30 percent cases) and cerebral hemorrhage (20 percent cases). In all these cases, the blood vessels carrying oxygen rich blood to the brain get affected. This article focuses on the signs of these conditions.

    Symptoms of Cerebrovascular Conditions:

    • Slurred speech
    • Changes in vision
    • Balance problems
    • Difficulties in reading and writing
    • Difficulty in speaking
    • Tingling sensations
    • Numbness
    • Mood changes like depression.
    • Fatigue
    • Sleepiness
    • Paralysis in face and limbs

    Smokers, elderly people, diabetics and hyper tension patients are at increased risk of developing these conditions.

    What is Cerebral Thrombosis?

    It is a condition where the brain nerves get damaged. As a result, the blood in the form of a clot obstructs the flow of liquid blood to the brain. It is followed by the dreadful stroke.

    What is Cerebral Embolism?

    The word embolus means any foreign substance like air, fat or any other material which manages to enter into the blood stream. Even here the flow of blood to the brain is stopped resulting in stroke.

    What is Cerebral Hemorrhage?

    It is a condition where damage is caused to the tissues of brain well within it. Experiencing tremendous pressure within the skull of the brain is one of the signs of this fatal condition. It is two times more prevalent in Afro0American people.

    A technique called CT scan is used to diagnose symptoms of cerebrovascular conditions. Blood is brighter than the tissues clearly. These tissues develop pass like thing called edema in the nerve cell. These tissues appear darker in the CT scan. There are some prescribed medicines used along with surgery which provide an effective treatment option. .
