    Pneumonia Shot Side Effects

    Pneumonia vaccine is a most important shot to get, especially for people with weak immune and elderly people, because pneumonia is the most common and dangerous condition. Pneumonia vaccine side effects are common which affects nearly 50% of the patients. Generally, they are mild and subside in a few days.

    Pneumonia Shot Composition:
    Most people fear that the vaccine causes pneumonia. It is impossible as the vaccine isn’t prepared from bacteria which causes pneumonia. Pneumonia vaccine is composed of a small portion of bacteria which can’t infect you.

    Pneumonia Shot Side Effects:
    Pneumonia shot side effects may be severe and mild. It may also have allergic reactions.

    Mild side effects of pneumonia shot include redness, swelling and soreness at the injection spot and also fatigue, low-grade fever and loss of appetite.

    Severe side effects of pneumonia shot are very rare. Occasionally, a high fever is reported and a few patients may report swelling in the arm and severe muscle pain.

    Allergic reaction: Those who are allergic to latex rarely, may have an allergic reaction to the vaccination of the pneumonia. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include severe fatigue, throat or tongue swelling, inflammation of the skin, racing heart, dizziness and difficulty in breathing.

    Treatments for Side Effects of Pneumonia Shot:
    Treatment for pneumonia shot side effects is not necessary generally and and most of them subside in a few days. If the patient experiences any breathing difficulty or severe side effects, consult the health care provider immediately. Any side effect which lasts for more than 5 days must be reported to the physician because it may be a symptom of other ailment or developing disease.
