It is an illegal drug that is extremely potent. It is a form of the drug methamphetamine. It is a white crystalline substance that is usually smoked. It is highly addictive and the user can get addicted with even a single use. It is highly toxic and has very serious implications on health and is one of the most difficult drugs to quit. Its effects include the physical, emotional and psychological.

    Effects of crystal meth
This drug is a stimulant that creates a false sense of well-being and happiness. This makes the user push him/her endurance beyond usual bodily limits, sometimes even turning fatal. It affects the physiological as well as psychological balance of the individual.

There are many short and long term effects of using crystal meth.

    Immediate effects

    • Increase in heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure
    • Paranoia, mood swings and hallucinations
    • Nausea and loss of appetite
    • Loss of sleep
    • Violent behavior
    • Seizures and convulsions

    Long term effects

    • Irreversible damage for blood vessels, increasing risk of heart attack and strokes
    • Multiple organ damage
    • Excessive weight loss
    • Respiratory disorders
    • Depression and disorientation
    • Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy

These are just some of the many effects this very potent drug can have on the user and some damage is so irreversible that even quitting may not completely make health better. A very big problem with this drug is that it is extremely difficult to quit and a lot many of the addicts succumb to its effects.

It is, therefore, always better to stay away from this drug altogether and not give it even one try as even that may get you hooked on to it for life.
