While speaking, you give out air thorough the help of your vocal cords, which are present in the larynx. Thus the vibration made out of your vocal cords, produce different sounds of your voice. Therefore, when there is a disturbance in this process, voice disorders take place.
Voice disorders are usually medical related problems. It is a medical condition in which patients face problems related to their speaking ability.

Diagnosis of voice disorders are usually proved to be difficult, as there is a possibility of many reasons. Therefore to get the accurate causes behind one’s voice disorder, all causes need to be identified accurately. Well, every time the causes may not be due to any medical conditions, some time it can be result of patent’s self-made condition like smoking etc.
While diagnosing the problem, the physician will take all kind of history related to voice disorder. He will note down all the factors like what makes it occur, how the patient uses his voice and how long he is facing this problem. After all these questions, the patient will be asked to go through certain physical tests, which include examination of neck, head and larynx. These physical tests will help to find out if there are abnormal growths like tumors etc in the vocal cords or larynx.
