    How to Apply Eyeliner

suryaBy suryaJanuary 28, 2008002 Mins Read

Eye liner is a makeup that is used to better define the eyes. There are four main types of eye liner on the market today- liquid eyeliner, powder-based eye pencil, wax-based pencils, kohl eyeliner.   Liquid eye liner is one of the most popular because it is the most precise but it is difficult to apply because you need to be very steady, hard powder-based eye pencil is also very precise but much easier to apply, softer wax-based pencils are easy to apply and are better to use for smudging and Kohl eyeliner has the softest powder texture. The key to the basic eye is to apply with a light hand.

    Liquid eyeliner

When it is time to apply the liquid eyeliner, prep the liner by making sure there is enough liquid in the brush. Start with the top lid. With a light touch, apply the liner starting at the inside corner and working outwards. Instead of trying to apply it all in one long line, it works best if you actually draw several smaller lines.

    Powder-based pencil

Wet your brush before use for a dramatic look. Lashes appear fuller by coloring in the spaces between each lash.

    Wax-based pencil

Wax-based eye pencils are softer pencils and contain waxes that ease application. They come in a wide variety of intense colours as well as pale shades such as white or beige. Wax-based eyeliners also come in a cone which has very fine point making the application more with an ease, these also come in compact with brush applicator.

    Kohl pencil

Eye defining pencil adds definition and a hint of colour to the bottom of each eye. It is available in variety of colours. The pencil should have a fine point and a medium to soft lead so it glides on easily under the lower eyelashes.
