Eyeliner is the latest trend of eye make up that is very much in fashion these days; it brightens up the eye and adds a great charm to the eye. An eye colored with eye make up looks sexy and sensational.
However, one must be very careful while applying any form of eye make up. As eye make up tends to have particles that may irritate or damage the eye.
Doctors however, recommend that eyeliner should be applied only on the upper eyelid. Kohl, or black pencil is advised to be used on the lower lid of the eye. The area where the eyeliner is applied on the lower lid is called the Water Line. It is the area between the lower eyelashes and the outer covering of the eye.
It is always best if one uses an eye pencil to darken the lower eye.

- Always wash your hands before you put on the liner.
- Make sure that you do not have sharp nails, as it tends to scratch the eye.
- Do not share your eye pencil with any one, as it may lead to an infection.
- Sharpen the pencil before you apply the black to your eye.
- Some individuals are very sensitive to the ingredients present in the eye pencil, and may suffer from redness or itchiness in the eye, so be very careful and first test the eye pencil to the outer part of the eye, instead of directly applying it in the eye.
- Apply the make up when you are in a state of peace and are not in a rush. When you are in a rush you will tend to do things in a haphazard manner and may end up hurting your eye.
