How often have you sulked over your favorite jeans that doesn’t fit you any more. How often have you looked at the mirror tucked your tummy in and wondered how you could get rid of that bulge around your waist?

Apart from not looking aesthetically appealing, central obesity puts you on a high risk for developing cardiovascular diseases. Women’s waists should not measure more than 35 inches and men’s waists should not go over 40   inches.

One time tested way to keep the fat off your stomach is to do your crunches everyday. But that’s just not enough. You need to bring about a change in your dietary habits and do some cardiovascular and weight bearing exercises to drop inches from your stomach.
    Try these tips:

    • Switch to lean proteins. Fish, chicken, pulses and certain fruits and vegetables are an excellent source of lean proteins.
    • Avoid starving yourself. If you deprive your body of enough calories your body goes into starvation mode and you will end up storing the foods you eat as fat.
    • Try to consume five healthy meals a day to boost your metabolism.
    • Ban all your high calorie sugary foods. They can wreak havoc on your weight loss plans.
    • Begin an exercise program that consists of at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise such as brisk walking, cycling etc three days a week. Along with cardiovascular exercise you should also include 30 minutes of weight training two days a week. Don’t for get your crunches too.
    • Invest in a good exercise and weight-loss book if you cant invest in a good personal trainer. Either of these would be able to guide you through the process of weight loss.
    • Stick to your weight loss plans. Be determined and don’t lose hope soon.

    How does Exercising Affect Obesity?
During exercising, the calories are burnt by the body. In this process, the body fat is also used to provide energy while exercising. This will help you to lose the body fat and overcome obesity. Apart from eating healthy, exercising is the most important thing you can do to overcome obesity.

I have been doing some exercises and as a result I have lost 5Kgs over a period of 5 months. My intention was not to loose so much weight and i would like to regain my weight. I am a male, 42 years, height 168cm weighing 61kg. I have been exercising 3-4 times a week each taking about one hour and missing my lunches as I work out during lunch hour.
      Please advise.
