    Breath Technique: Relaxing Technique

    To live a healthy and happy life one should learn how to breath. Breathing techniques usually helps a person in breathing right and to achieve a healthy lifestyle. These techniques help in settling down the state of the body and mind. They also create a sense of awareness of the things happening within and around us.

    These techniques also help in reducing the stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and anger. People who are stressed usually do not think about the changes that take place in their bodies. The pressures of the situation usually keeps the mind occupied. This will lead to an unhealthy state of mind and people in this state of mind do not succeed in their work most of the time.

    Importance of Oxygen:
    Oxygen is the most important thing in the respiratory system. Oxygen is inhaled when a person breathes in air, then it purifies the blood by removing the toxic waste products. Irregular breathing habits will destroy this purification process and causes the waste products to remain in the blood.

    Digestion becomes irregular due to which the organs and the tissues become undernourished. The anxiety and fatigue levels increases due to improper consumption of oxygen.

    Proper Breathing:
    Breathing function should be taken very seriously and should be practiced in a proper way. A person should learn how to breath properly and completely. The following is the proper breathing technique which is the relaxed body position.

      Relaxed Body Position:

    • This technique is performed to relax the muscles and the mind. For this method a person should lie on the floor straight, with legs slightly placed apart from each other. Hands should be placed away from the body and your palms positioned in the upward direction.
    • Make sure that your toes are pointed outwards comfortably. Close your eyes and relax your body and breathe freely. Breathe through the nose as the mucous membranes present inside the nose filters the dust and toxins inhaled. Make sure that you keep your mouth closed when you breathe.
    • One should make sure that the abdomen and the chest should move together. If only the chest rises then it is an indication of shallow breathing and that you are not making good use of the lower part of the lungs.
    • The proper way of breathing is achieved when the abdomen rises, filling up your stomach when you inhale. The abdomen comes back in, when you exhale. This process should continue smoothly and comfortably. Make sure that the chest muscles moves slightly than that of the abdomen muscles.
