    Allergy Itch at Night

    Allergies can often cause itchy skin. It might be because of breathable allergens like pollen or dust. On the other hand it can manifest because of food allergies like milk or egg allergies. Itchiness in the skin can be very difficult to live with but it is especially har to take when it occurs at night. What can be done about allergy itch at night?

    Itchiness in the skin at night

    When you are constantly scratching yourself during the night it creates an uncomfortable feeling that makes it difficult to fall asleep. Relaxation is a key component in getting to sleep and sometimes allergy itchy can come in the way. This is why allergic itch should be treated whenever possible. Not only does the itch itself make you uncomfortable but it might cause a sleepless night making you tired and lethargic the next day.

    Reasons for allergy itch at night

    If you suffer from allergic itch only during the night you might want to take a look at where you sleep and how this might affect your allergy. If your bedding contains something that might cause your allergy such as chemicals you are sensitive to then you should change the bedding. Sometimes people are sensitive to fabric softener the bedding is treated with. See if this is something that might be causing you allergy at night.

    Dust

    Sometimes where you sleep might be very dusty. This might cause skin reactions too although respiratory conditions are more common with dust allergy. If however you experience itchy feeling in the throat it might be because of dust allergy.

    Food

    Itching in the skin is often caused by food allergies. Consider what you eat at night before going to bed. If you consume food you are allergic to it is possible that skin reaction causing itchiness comes about after you go to bed.

    If none of these reasons seem like the one causing your skin condition, see a doctor for further advice on how to treat allergies. You might need to go for allergy testing in order to know why it is that the itching you experience occurs during the night.
