    This article means to find out how allergy and asthma symptoms occur in the winter. Are allergy symptoms different in winter than in other seasons?

    Cold and Flu

    For people with asthma winter is the season that you get more symptoms because of colds and flu symptoms that you might experience more in winter.

    Cold Air

    The colder air in winter can affect people with asthma by causing breathing difficulties. You should wrap up warm if you go outside in cold weather.

    Mold

    For people with asthma or allergies related symptoms, mold can cause problems. Levels of dust mites and molds are the highest in the winter. Mites are spider like cratures invisible to the eye. They are mainly found on bedding because they feed on the shed skin we leave on the bedding. They also find neutrition in molds.

    Remedies for Winter Allergy

    Mold and dust mites cause allergy symptoms in the household. To combat this you can get rid of old carpets or wash them thoroughly. Also you should limit your exposure to animal dander if you suffer from pet allergies. Tobacco smoke can also aggravate allergies and asthma. This is why smoking is not a good idea, in addition to the health risks.

    Allergies can get worse when immune system is not operating well. This is why it is important to avoid getting a cold in the winter. By getting a cold, you can make your allergy symptoms worse as well. This is why weather appropriate clothing is important.

    During the winter you can use the cold air to your advantage. Air out the house and your bedding with cold air from the outside. This is how you can kill the dust mites that are behind your allergies. Weather it is asthma or other allergy caused by breathable allergens, getting rid of dust is a step to the right direction.
