    Allergy to Fruit and Vegetables

    When a person suffers from latex or pollen allergy, there are chances that he can also suffer from allergy by eating some fruits, vegetables, nuts and spices. These are termed as ‘Cross reactions‘. Some fruits and vegetables which can lead to allergy in some people are listed in this article. These lists can guide you about the fruits and vegetables which can give you allergic symptoms.

    When the vegetable is boiled, fried or baked, allergic symptoms subsides in some people. 3% of adolescents face allergic symptoms by consuming fruits and vegetables. The mild allergic symptoms include hives around mouth, vomiting and abdominal pain. Some of the allergic fruits and vegetables in different categories are described in the following lines.

    Fruits and Vegetables Allergy
    Some allergic fruits, vegetables, nuts and spices are as follows:
    Birch Pollen — People who are allergic to birch pollen can also become allergic to the following fruits and vegetables –

    • Fruits — Plum, Apricot, Peach, Kiwi, Cherry, Pear and Apple
    • Vegetables — Potato, Tomato, Pepper and Carrot
    • Nuts — Almond, Hazelnut, Peanut, Groundnut, Walnut and Para nut

    Grass Pollen – People who are allergic to grass pollen can also become allergic to the following fruits and vegetables –

    • Fruits — Melon and Orange
    • Vegetables — Pea and Tomato
    • Nuts — Peanut and Groundnut

    Mug Wort Pollen – People who are allergic to mug wort pollen can also become allergic to the following fruits and vegetables –

    • Fruits – Sunflower seeds, Parsnips, Melon, Parsley and Celery
    • Vegetables — Carrots and Green Peppers

    Latex allergy – Latex allergy can occur by eating the following fruits and vegetables –

    • Fruits — Figs, Banana, Avocados, Kiwi and Papaya
    • Vegetables — Tomato and Potato

    The above are a few fruits and vegetables that can lead to allergy in some people.
