This article will let you know how to find remedies for allergy related eczema in children.

Managing eczema takes often a long period of time. In children the symptoms usually go away in time without treatment and this is why it is advisable to wait until the immune system learns to tolerate the allergen. If, however, the symptoms persist for a long time, there are different ways to help your child with eczema symptoms.

    โ€“ Avoiding the allergen
By far the best way to treat eczema in children is avoiding contact with the allergen. This is why you must find out what the reason for the allergic reaction is. It is also important to know if the condition is caused by an allergy or contact dermatitis, which means exposure to something that irritates the skin, such as soap. Testing what substance causes the allergy is something that a doctor can help you with.

    โ€“ Cortisone ointments
Cortisone ointments are one method of controlling eczema if exposure to the allergen cannot be avoided. Medications should be used sparingly with children. This is because cortisones are relatively strong drugs and can lead to damage in sensitive skin. They are doctor prescribed because the allergy must be carefully examined in order to know that they treatment is the correct one. It is important to use the ointment as long as the doctor deems necessary. This is because the underlying condition might not go away even if the symptoms in the skin disappear. Therefore, if you stop using the cortisone ointment too soon, it is more likely that the eczema will reappear.

โ€“ Take care of the skin
Eczema is an uncomfortable condition because it causes itchiness that can be frustrating. Try to prevent the child from scratching and make sure to keep the skin clean. You can also use a moisturizer to sooth the itchy feeling and dryness in the skin.
