    Mold Food Allergy

    Molds are the fungi which grow in the damp environment. They are basically reproduced with the help of spores. These spores are spread through wind in summer and with fog and dew in winter season. Some of these Moldslike Aspergillus, Mucor, Rhizopus etc are allergic. Most of the molds grow in open areas. So, they can easily infect the plants which come in their contact.

    Common Food Sources Which Can Carry Mold In Them:

    • Butter milk
    • Mushrooms
    • All the food items which are made using yeast as the source
    • Beer
    • Sour cream
    • Vinegar
    • Wine
    • Nuts
    • Potatoes
    • Soy sauce
    • Dry fruits
    • Raw fruits and vegetables

    Who Can Get Affected From This Allergy:

    This allergy is commonly found in those families where people are allergic to substances like pollen or animal dander. People might be allergic to only mold or some other fungi also along with the mold. The allergic symptoms are cause due to food fungi like red wine, mushrooms, vinegar, soy sauce, etc. Only in that case when the food directly affects the blood vessels. This happens in a very rare case.

    Symptoms OF Mold Food Allergy:
    The symptoms of mold food allergy includes:

    • Itching
    • Sneezing
    • Congestion
    • Nasal Discharge
    • Dry and scaly skin

    These are the common symptoms for mold allergy. In case these symptoms are caused by the outdoor mold they will be there throughout the summer and in case these would be caused due to an indoor mold they will be there for the year round. If the spores of the mold gets deposited on the outer part of your nose they can result in hay fever and the related symptoms of this fever. In advance cases they can even move to the lungs where they can settle and cause asthma and in severe condition a disease called allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.
