    Top 10 Tips for Traveling with Allergies

    Summer Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Naturally these two words call up a beautiful portrayal of relaxation, sunny days, sports, perhaps water and sand or woodlands. But unfortunately, you might be dropping out your plans of enjoying your holidays because of asthma and allergies. You don’t need to do that. Instead just take few precautions.

    Some Healthy Tips for a Happy Holiday
    For making your family enjoy their holidays in a full fledged manner, you just need to take few precautions those are listed below.

    • Try to avoid any kind of contact with allergens and always be very careful of any possible cross-contamination.
    • Try to prevent any kind of chances of getting anaphylactic shock. Be aware of the symptoms and try to detect them as fast as possible.
    • Before starting a long drive, turn on the air conditioner or heater and keep the windows open at least for 10 minutes before you get into the car. It helps in clearing the dust mites, molds and pollens.
    • If you are susceptible to mold or pollen allergies then you need to close the car windows and keep your air conditioner on.
    • Always try to travel early in the morning or late in the evening. It will reduce the scope of getting affected by air pollution.
    • You are always advised to opt for an allergen-proof room. That must be sunny and far away from the indoor pool.
    • If you are prone to food allergies than you should never take outside foods. You can carry injectable epinephrine for emergency purpose.
    • Make it sure that you have packed all of your essential medication before starting for a holiday trip.
    • If you have opted for an air travel, always use saline nasal spray once every hour for keeping your nasal membranes moist, since the climate inside a plane is very dry.
    • Before going for long vacation, always consult an allergist/immunologist for more tips.
