    What are the Natural Remedies for Hot Flashes?

    The symptoms of hot flashes are associated with premature ovarian failure or early menopause along with other symptoms like mood swings, night sweats, osteoporosis risks and heart diseases. Hot flashes is a condition in which the skin opens up more than the normal and allows more redness and heat to be released into the skin. The condition is also influenced by some hormone levels and also by some external factors.

    Some external factors which influence hot flashes conditions are anxiety, tension, stress and dietary changes. There are various treatments to get relief from hot flashes including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). There are several Ayurvedic herbs which provide relief from hot flashes which are discussed in this article.

    Natural Remedies for Hot Flashes
    Some important natural remedies for hot flashes are as follows:

    • Flax seeds – Flax seeds are high in phytoestrogens and omega-3 fatty acids. They help lower the symptoms of hot flashes.
    • Red clover — It also helps prevent symptoms of hot flashes along with osteoporosis and other menopausal symptoms. It is rich in bioflavonoids.
    • Black Cohosh — It is one of the most popular herb for relief from hot flashes along with other menopausal symptoms.
    • Gotu kola — It is another important herb which helps relieve hot flashes condition. It also helps remove vaginal dryness associated with menopause.
    • Licorice — Licorice root tincture, if taken one spoon daily, helps relieve the hot flashes condition. Licorice tea can also be taken.

    Some Other Natural Remedies for Hot Flashes:

    • Avoid or reduce caffeine
    • Regular exercise
    • Meditation
    • Yoga
    • Avoid alcohol and other spicy foods
    • Ice water should be taken
    • Increase vitamin E

    With the use of the above described herbs, following some meditation and relaxation techniques can also help overcome the problem of hot flashes.
