    Eyeglasses for Sportspersons: Enhances the Sports Performance

    Eyeglasses are necessary for sports persons as they protect the athletes from eye injuries as well as it helps them by giving the extra edge that they are looking for. For sports persons, their performance is driven by vision. You should ensure that your eyesight is in good shape to succeed in sports. If you have a good eyesight, the correct pair of eyeglasses meant for sports may enhance your performance and you can give a stiff competition to your rivals.

    Most of the sports eye specialists believe that corrective eyeglasses can yield a positive effect on athletic performance. They also believe that eye injuries caused due to sports can be avoided if sporstpersons wear protective eyewear, for example, safety goggles with polycarbonate lenses.

    Catchers in softball or baseball should always wear face shields. Even if you play sports like paintball, football or hockey, then you should also wear face shields. Skiers should always consider wearing ski goggles on the slopes.

    Every year in the United States of America, more than 42,000 eye injuries related to sports demand emergency room attention. Around 72% of the eye injuries affect those who are younger than 25. Also, approximately 43% of these eye injuries affect children who are younger than 15.

    Coaches and parents should ask their children to wear safety glasses when they play sports. You should avoid wearing eyeglass lenses that are not safety-rated as they could shatter. This can cause eye injuries. Even ultraviolet rays (UV) rays from the sun can cause serious eye complications such as ocular tumors and cataracts. Therefore, sportspersons should wear sports sunglasses or tinted goggles to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
