    Bad Breath After Gastric Bypass?

    It is very common and normal thing that people experience bad breath after Gastric Bypass.There are many reasons behind having bad breath after Gastric Bypass. Some reasons are annoying and frustrating but people who have undergone this surgery have lost their weight and feel worthwhile to experience bad breath.

    You must understand that why you get bad breath after Gastric Bypass. This happens because of the severity and nature of the surgery. The food in the stomach doesn’t break down easily which leads to bad breath.

    In order to break down the food the body needs to work harder. People who are following high protein diet also experience bad breath. Many people who follow low-carb,high protein diet say that they experience indigestion,stomach cramps and acid reflux disease frequently. Remember that you are not the only one who is experiencing bad breath

    After the surgery your stomach has become vulnerable and it is in a compromising state. In this situation, you need to listen to your doctor’s advice. You can make your situation worse for you, if you try harsh antacids.

    People who are experiencing digestive problems or indigestion can take antacid or baking soda in water. Consult your doctor first before trying these things. Treating your bad breath after gastric bypass by your own will make your situation worse.

    Stick to the dentist/physician treatment, once you have diagnosed that you have bad breadth. Always remember that the treatment for your bad breadth depend on the causes of it. Hydrating your mouth and body is the first step that you can do in order to get rid of bad breadth.Drink plenty of water. Don’t keep your mouth dry.

    Following are the ways in which you can keep yourself away from Bad Breadth:-

    • Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
    • Dry mouth can increase bacteria so you can chew sugarless chewing gum in order to reduce your bad breath.
    • Clean your tongue twice in a day. It will also help to reduce your bad breath.You can take the help of a tongue cleaner/tongue brush.
    • Gargling also helps you a lot to keep away from bad breath. Do gargle with an effective mouthwash before going to bed.
