Obesity crates a large array of health related diseases, including coronary heart disease (CHD), other cardiovascular disease (CVD), and diabetes mellitus, as per the article in JAMA. Obesity adversely increases many cardiovascular risk factors, particularly diabetes, high levels of blood pressure and serum cholesterol. However, controversies exist as to whether obesity has additional impact on cardio vascular disease results like heart attacks, blockage of Arteries etc, beyond its affects on recognized risk factors. A confirm evidence in this regard is very few. But that doesn’t mean we must not take care of obesity. With clinical settings, patients generally tend to ask some of the questions like sometimes ask “Do I need to take care of my obesity as my blood sugar levels or my diabetes is entirely under control? Do I still need to worry?” After the publication of this study in the authorized medical journal doctors start saying “Yes”. Further research is going on to find out up to how much extent obesity affect the health on CHD ,CVD and Diabetes, its also being tested that whether it additional risks in the absence of popular risk factors or in presence of other major risk factors. The study compared obese people with person with normal weight found that obese people have

    – 4.2 % times more risk for CHD (in low risk obese people)
    – 8.4 % times more risk for CHD (in moderate risk obese people)
    – For Cardiovascular Diseases the results were same as above
    – But in case of diabetes the risk of hospitalization is 7.8% and risk of death is 11%
