    If you want to loose weight, but find the gym a boring place to exercise then step outside your house and walk around your garden.

    Yes you heard it right your garden. This is the best place where  you can loose weight.  Well, now it  does not mean that just by standing in your garden you will loose weight, you need to move around and do some gardening.

    Gardening requires lot of physical exercise. It not only helps physically but also psychologically as it is a great stress buster.

    Indulging in regular gardening helps you stay fit and fine. Regular exercise sheds of that extra fat and trims your body in the right way.

    Activities such as digging, planting, weeding, and harvesting incorporate all types of physical movement that benefit your flexibility, strength, and even aerobic fitness. And these activities help you maintain muscle that supports a faster metabolic rate.

    People who grow fruits and vegetables tend to eat more of these healthy foods. And when they are eaten in place of higher calorie foods, this helps with weight loss. This helps develop in them a sense of balanced diet.

    If you aren’t used to exercising in the garden, then start this regime of exercise slowly. Start with weeding, watering, and planting seeds.

    As you feel yourself getting stronger you can increase your gardening repertoire to include: pruning, heavy digging, hoeing, pushing a loaded wheelbarrow, or mowing the lawn.

    You can potentially burn up to 300-600 calories per hour depending on your intensity and which gardening exercises you engage in.

    Here are some tips, which you need to keep in mind while gardening.

    • Stretch before, during and after gardening.
    • Do not stay in one position for too long.
    • Don’t lift objects that are too heavy for you. If you injure yourself, chances are that you won’t be able to continue to garden for exercise and weight loss.
    • Do not stop gardening, thinking there is no work left to do. There is plenty of physical exercise involved like shoveling, raking and splitting of wood.

    Once you realize the benefits you will begin to love your new hobby and may never want to step into the gym.
