    What is Fatty Infiltration in the Liver?

    Fatty Liver is also known as Steatosis. It is the accumulation of the fat which is found in the liver cells. The fats are stored by the liver in the cytoplasm. Under normal condition, only 5% of the triglycerides are occupied in the liver. When the concentration limit go beyond, it becomes a problem. This is known as fatty infiltration of the liver. Patients do not tend to show any particular symptoms but it is caused due to various reasons.

    Causes of Fatty Infiltration Liver:-

    • Increase in the amount of fat transferred to the liver from different parts of the body is the main cause of the fatty infiltration.
    • Intake of alcohol can also lead to fatty infiltration.
    • Starving, obesity,malnutrition and diabetes can also cause fatty infiltration in the liver.

    Symptoms of Fatty Infiltration Liver:-

    • You will find that the person has low appetite.
    • Feeling of nausea.
    • The person will be suffering from fever.
    • You will find that the person might be feeling weak.
    • There will be mental confusion.
    • Dry mouth.
    • The legs will get swollen
    • Pain in the abdominal area.

    Treatment of Fatty Infiltration Liver:-

    • Person suffering from fatty infiltration should follow strict diet. He should be regular in taking his medications . He should go for a regular check-up. This will prevent his liver from getting damaged. Thus, resulting in reducing accumulation fat in the liver.
    • The person’s cholesterol should be controlled. Doing exercise and lowering cholesterol will stabilize the fatty liver disease.
    • Avoid drinking alcohol when you are suffering from fatty infiltration. Also do not use medications which can be harmful for your liver. You can ask your doctor to help you out.
    • Recently the researches have found out some medicines which can be taken such as metformin,pioglitazone and betaine. These medications are useful for the people who have fatty infiltration in the liver with /without diabetes
