    Kissing a Smoker is Gross

suryaBy suryaFebruary 18, 2008562 Mins Read

The worst thing about kissing a person is having to bear his or her bad breath. Whether it is spicy food, smoked meat, garlic, onions or smoking your kissing experience can be awful. Refreshing chewing gums and mints before your kissing moments can be the ideal remedy to avoid a disastrous kissing time.

Why Kissing a Smoker Can Be Annoying?

Kissing a smoker is repulsive primarily because of the bad smell which is contributed by the accumulation of the ashes and nicotine. A 2000 study confirmed that on an average about 78% people suffered from tooth decays, every one from a set of two people suffered from gingivitis and 80% of the people suffering from gingivitis were infected with gum diseases. The most interesting thing about this study revealed that 95% of the people were not aware of these oral complications associated with cigarette smoking.

    Facts About Kissing a Smoker

An investigation actually looked into how bad an effect smoking can have on kissing a person. A volunteer was picked by random and asked to first kiss a smoker and then an ashtray. This was done to determine whether kissing a smoker can be as bad as kissing an ashtray or worse.

The results of the volunteer were studied and analyzed on the basis of four criteria’s — enthusiasm, taste, texture and resistance.

The following results were revealed from the study or investigation:

    • Enthusiasm: Reluctant about kissing a smoker
    • Taste: A tangy feeling with hints of ashes
    • Texture: Grainy feeling due to the ashes collected in the mouth
    • Resistance: There was no problem with regard to grip and firmness

Speaking subjectively this investigation proved that kissing a smoker isn’t that bad. However, foul or bad breath would in anyway be unappreciated if you are considered kissing a person.

When asked to kiss an ashtray, the taste, texture and resistance was quiet the same but in terms of enthusiasm an inanimate object couldn’t contribute much. However, the investigation concluded on the point that kissing an ashtray can be better than kissing a smoker as there is little that can be expected from an object in terms of smell, taste, texture or retaliation. So quit smoking if you are expecting better reactions from your partner.

I don’t smoke but my boyfriend smokes and he doesn’t like to kiss. When I asked him why he doesn’t like to kiss, he said it’s because of tthe germs we have in our mouths. He’s not worried about all the health risks of smoking, only about the germs he can get from kissing.

I floss and brush my teeth everyday. My dentist tells me that I have beautiful teeth. I don’t know if my boyfriend ever brushes his teeth. If he does, I don’t ever see him do it.

I don’t like kissing a smoker but I would give anything to have him kiss me the way I like to be kissed.

I told him one day that I wish I was a cigarette just so he would kiss me the way he kisses it. All I get is a bird peck.

I’m about ready to move on because I’m tired of doing without. I think it’s just an excuse on his part. I know that smoking is much worse for you than kissing but of course, that would do away with his excuse.

He told me to give him more time and he would start kissing me the way I want to be kissed but now he’s telling me that he doesn’t want to have to deal with the germs. I’ve given him 5 months. I think that’s plenty of time. It really hurts me.

Rose, I can’t believe you were with a guy for at least 5 months who didn’t brush his teeth LOL, and you’re STILL with him! I’m sure you can find one person who brushes their teeth. That would instantly be an upgrade tenfold!
