    Things You Should Know About Breast Cancer

    According to 2009 reports of National Cancer Institute, there have been 192,370 breast cancer cases in womenand 1,910 cases in men. About 40,170 female deaths and 440 male deaths have been registered so far this year.

    Breast Cancer also develops in men. About 2000 men every year in the United States discover that they suffer from this disease.
    Breast Cancer is a type of cancer that affects the breast tissues in the inner lining of milk ducts or glands producing milk. There are different types of breast cancers which depend on different stages, aggressiveness and genetic fluctuations.

    According to American Cancer Society, the Probability of Developing Breast Cancer Within the Next 10 years is:

    • Women who are diagnosed with breast cancer in one breast, have increased risk of getting it in the other breast also.
    • Breast cancer can also be hereditary.
    • Caucasian women are prone to breats cancer than any other women in the world.
    • Women who are physically inactive have increased chances of breast cancer. Staying active decreases the risk.
    • 96% of the women who are detected with the breast cancer at an early age are likely to be cancer free after 5 years.
    • Most cancer deaths in women are caused by breast cancer. It is found in between the ages of 15 and 54.
    • It is also the second cause of cancer death in women aged between 55 to 74.
    • Prevent Breast Cancer by visiting a doctor as earliest as possible and get a mammograph test done.

    Symptoms of Breast Cancer and Detection:

    The symptoms of breast cancer start with a different type of lump which surrounds the breast tissue. Around 80% females discover the cancer after they feel the lump. They are examined by a physician and the cancer is detected by a test called Mammograph Test. But over 85% of breast lumps are usually not cancerous. They could be basic fibrocystic breast disease. In this disease, the breast tissues form a lump and cause discomfort to the patient. The only way of preventing the cancer to increase is to detect it at its earliest stage. It can only be diagnosed with the help of a surgery.
