    Top 5 Secondary Losses When You Quit Smoking

    Quitting smoking is a great feeling, a feeling of freedom. There are innumerable benefits of quitting. It helps the lungs, respiratory tract, heart, kidneys and almost all the other parts of the body function better. Once you quit, the body also gets rid of accumulated toxins due to which the risk of various diseases like cancers, heart diseases, emphysema and many more can be reduced to a great extent. But there may be a small downside to quitting as well.

    Top 5 secondary losses when you quit smoking
    There are some losses that you may have to face when you quit smoking. These are usually small minor losses that does not, in any way, reduce the benefits of quitting. But they may affect you to a small extent.

    • Friends: If you have a circle of friends who meet and hang out to smoke, you might have to part with them. This is because the group may not be advisable once you quit as it may tempt you.
    • Feeling of loneliness: If you lose out on some friends, you may feel lonely for sometime till you manage to find new friends to hang out and have fun.
    • Low self esteem: If your reason for smoking was to look cool, you may feel a bit low and unsure of yourself till you have completely gotten over your addiction and found new ways to be cool.
    • Boredom: As smoking was your only pass-time whenever you were free, you may feel bored every time you run out of things to do, until you develop a hobby.
    • Indulgence: Because you save up a substantial amount, you may end up indulging in drinking, food, sweets or such other things to make up for the absence of cigarettes.
