    Sinus Congestion Relief

    Sinus congestion may be triggered by flu and common cold. This may be treated only with time. When people experience stuffiness, membranes lining up the nasal passages gets irritated and inflamed. Excess mucous production flushes out the underlying cause of inflammation. The most common misconception regarding natural relief of sinus congestion is that dry air clears the runny nose. But, the concept is quite opposite. Dry membranes aids the inflammation and increases mucus production. This makes people feel more stuffed.

    Remedies for Sinus Congestion Relief:
    For keeping nasal passages damp and to achieve relief from sinus congestion, one can follow the following measures.

    • Take long shower baths and inhale the steam.
    • Keep a vaporizer or humidifier in the bedroom
    • Avoid alcohol because it aids in drying the nasal passages.
    • Boil water in a pot, and place the face near the steam and take a deep breathe.
    • Try to avoid swimming in the chlorinated water as chlorine irritates mucus membranes.

    • Drink plenty of herbal teas, fresh juice and water, as this expels the excess mucus.
    • Chicken soup: chicken soup have effective ingredients that give relief from the sinus congestion naturally. This calms the stuffy nose symptoms and chronic cough.
    • Fluffy pillows: During pregnant, sinus congestion relief is common. This is an irritating condition as sinus headaches occur. The most effective method in this condition is to prop couple of pillows under the head while sleeping.
    • Neti Pot: These gave a great relief from sinus congestion relief for those suffering from allergy symptoms. Proper use of these pots cleanses the stuffiness in the nasal passages and fights against bacteria. This is an effective remedy for relieving sinus congestion.
    • Blow Nose: Blow the nose regularly by keeping one finger over nostril and mildly blow the nose.
