    Tips to Recover from Pneumonia

    Pneumonia is the most common disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Though many people contract pneumonia, aged people, kids below 5 years and people with weak immune system are more affected with this disease. An individual with pneumonia must ideally follow few simple tips to accelerate the recovery process.

    Pneumonia is a viral or bacterial infection of lungs. This is characterized by lungs inflammation and accumulation of fluid in pulmonary alveoli. This fluid hampers the oxygen flow to blood. This in turn triggers several symptoms of pneumonia. Most common symptoms of pneumonia include: chills, excessive sweating, fever, chest pain and high body temperature.

    Tips to Recover from Pneumonia:
    People should take precautionary measures to make sure that pneumonia recovery is fast and the most important of all, there is no lapse. Following are some simple and effective tips to recover from pneumonia.

    • Medicines must be taken properly, a particular schedule must be followed. Often, medications prescribed by doctor include oral antibiotics for 10 days. Relapse chances increases, the course is not duly completed.
    • Patient feels drowsy during the course of antibiotics. Hence, patient needs to take rest as much as possible. This helps the immune system to recover quicker.
    • Smoking should be strictly avoided. These increase pressure on the deteriorating immune system.
    • Long showers or steam baths helps in recovering from pneumonia as this relieves chest congestion.
    • Get back to the daily routine as this helps the body to recover from the life threatening lung infection. Do not indulge in activities that are tiring.
    • Apply heat pads for relieving relieving the chest pain.
    • Intake of fluids should be increased during the process because this helps in speedy recovery.
    • Do not take cough suppressants as they tend people feel ill for long periods. It is suggested to use expectorants after consulting the doctor.
    • Breath clean air to put lungs back into track, on other hand, polluted air makes leads to further complications.
