    What is Double Pneumonia

    Double pneumonia is a lung infection which may be caused fungi, viruses, parasites and bacteria. The term “double” refers to both the infected lungs. Although, some people experience mild pneumonia forms, if double pneumonia is left untreated, it can be a life threatening condition. This is a serious condition which results in deaths of about 60,000 Americans every year. This article gives information on the symptoms and some remedies for treating double pneumonia.

    Double Pneumonia Symptoms:
    According to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, people suffering from double pneumonia can experience several respiratory-related symptoms. These symptoms include:

    • Chest pain which fluctuates while breathing. This is known as pleurisy.
    • Shortness of breath
    • Persistent cough which lasts for several days

    If you notice any of these symptoms, make sure that you consult the health care provider immediately.

    Other symptoms of double pneumonia include infection, fatigue, muscle ache and headache. Some patients may experience influenza or cold-related infections. People with these symptoms may become weak after experiencing flu or cold. So consult the physician as early as possible when you notice the above symptoms.

    Causes of Double Pneumonia:
    When the immune system becomes weak, it cannot fight against the diseases. During this situation, one can easily inhale microorganisms from an infected person and thus they spread to air sacs and lungs. Pus and fluid gets accumulated in the air sacs. This results in difficulty in supplying oxygen to the body and makes you feel sick.

    Home Remedies for Double Pneumonia:
    Certain home remedies helps in relieving the symptoms of double pneumonia. Adequate rest and sleep with regular exercise are very important.

    • Sesame Seeds: These effectively treat respiratory conditions. Boil 15 grams of sesame seeds in 250 ml of water and strain it. Add some honey, a pinch of salt and linseeds and have it. This remedy helps in removing phlegm from the bronchial tubes.
    • Eucalyptus Oil: Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to hot water and take steam. This soothes and opens up the respiratory tract. It also aids in relieving bronchial infections and cough.
