    Common running aches & pains

    Running aches and pains are common for runners. Most of the runners usually deal with aches and pains while running. There are certain pains that often occur during the run. Foot pain, ankle pain, upper leg pain, knee pain, back and hip pain.

    Foot pain
    Foot pain occurs when the size of the shoe is not proper. Sometimes it is occurred by knee injury also, that is in case if the knee cap is not proper or too tight then it leads to knee injury and eventually leads to foot injury.

    Ankle pain
    Ankle pain usually occurs when we stretch the body beyond limits. Sometimes runners wear new shoes to the race, which might lead to ankle pain. Hence it is not advised to wear new shoes to the run.

    Upper leg pain
    Upper leg usually pains when hamstring or groin injuries occur.hamstring pull is an injury that ruptures back thigh muscles. If the inner thigh muscles are stretched beyond their limits then groin pull occurs.

    Knee pain
    knee pains are common while running. Proper care should be taken while choosing and wearing a knee cap. Knee pain occurs mostly when runners slip off as they lose balance and fall off the ground. Hence care should be taken while dealing with knee pains.

    Back and hip pain
    As we run, our body temperature is eventually raised and becomes warm. While running our body becomes flexible and there is a lot of stress on muscles. When there is stress on muscles, we feel restless, when exercised for long time. Back and hip pain occurs in young runners as their bones are developing.

    Tips to avoid certain pains

    • In order to avoid hip pain, it is advised to use specific belts as suggested by doctor. This helps in relieving hip pain.
    • To avoid foot injuries there are certain foot insoles to be used while running, as they help in supporting edge of your foot.
    • To avoid knee injuries it is advised to wear knee cap regularly. But proper care should be taken while choosing a knee cap that is it should be of appropriate size.
