Notwithstanding the reason, there are definite physical, emotional and mental benefits that can be obtained from running. We list a few great reasons for you to embark on a fruitful career of running.

    Running Improves Health
    One’s health improves through regular running. It strengthens the heart and paves the way for efficient blood and oxygen flow in the body. This decreases the risk of heart attacks. Regular exercise and an optimum weight can reduce one’s blood pressure, if it is greater than normal. Running can keep high cholesterol in check. It also improves the immune system, helping your body fight off germs more effectively. Running also increases bone density, which can help ward off osteoporosis.

    Running Helps to Lose Weight
    Running is a great way to lose extra pounds. It is a vigorous exercise, that burns calories efficiently, thus helping to lose weight. If you are already at an optimum weight, running can help maintain it. But, do not start gorging on food, thinking that your daily running will take care of the calories and your weight. You still need to burn more calories than you consume.

    Run for a Good Cause

    You can give back to society through running. Take part in benefit and charity races. This will help you stay motivated, and can make your training and racing more fulfilling and meaningful.

    Running Helps to Socialize

    Some runners enjoy silence and solitude by running alone. But, others see it as an opportunity to socialize. Run with a friend, or in a group, to develop bonding with the community. You can set and accomplish group goals. Besides, you can motivate each other to stay focused on running. Go online with your running experiences and read about others’ too. You can share your triumphs and tribulations with your real-life and online friends.
