    Hip and Thigh Pain Among Runners

    Hip and Thigh pain are common almost every runner. There are a few common injuries among every runner during running. The various hip and thigh pain are mentioned below.

    • Hip Bursitis
      When there is a bursa inflammation outside the joint of the hip, called as trochanteric bursitis, which causes pain in the hip when there is hip movement. The hip bursitis treatment is very effective. But, there are chances for the hip bursitis to come back even after the treatment and it might become a persisting problem.

      Hip bursitis is very painful, as they move their tendons each time when they have to step that is, when tendons move over the bones then you find pain. Based on the common symptoms hip bursitis can be diagnosed. The two most common symptoms are tenderness over the lower/upper thigh and swelling on the bursa.

    • Snapping Hip Syndrome
      This is the common word which describes three hip problems that are distinct. Firstly, the IT band syndrome is snapped over the outer side of the thigh. Secondly, when the hip flexors are snapped over the front part of the hip. Thirdly, when the cartilage tears around the socket of the hip cause a snapping.
    • Iliotibial Band Syndrome
      A thick fibrous band, which spans hip to the shin bone is the Iliotibial band syndrome. It band syndrome gives stability to the thigh muscles which are attached to the knee joints.
    • Pulled Hamstring
      One of the common injury found among sports persons is pulled hamstring. A muscle injury, called as hamstring strain, is a pulled hamstring. If you have a pulled hamstring then you might have to treat it immediately to avoid further muscle injuries.
    • Hip Stress Fractures
      Sports persons those who are participating in the sports of high impact face the stress fractures. If you want to recover sooner then you are recommended to be away from the impact activities. Stress Fracture is generally occurred when there is micro-trauma in the bone repeatedly.
