    Tight calf muscle is commonly found among runners and athletes. Calf muscle becomes tight when there is increase in mileage during running routine.

      One of the common problems found among runners is tight calf muscle. This might be found when you are running. Sometimes you might find that you have relieved from pain but soon after you end your run the pain might start.
    • Cause
      One of the major cause for the tight calf muscle is speeding your running routines. If you increase speed during your routine running then you might have tight calf muscle. You can recover from this by proper running footwear and by knowing the helpful techniques.
    • Treatment
      You can go for a tissue massage when you find the tight calf muscle. Massage therapist might help you to recover from the tight calf muscle. This can be one of the best ways to treat calf muscle pain.

      Make sure that you do stretching exercises during the recovery stage so that you know the state of your muscle. Stretching and warming might help not only during running routines but also helps during the recovering process.

    • Prevention
      One of the best way to prevent tight calf muscles is to avoid increasing speed suddenly during regular routines. It is advisable to increase the speed gradually during your workouts. If you increase the speed during a single workout then there are huge chances for you to face the injury risks. One of the foremost thing which you have to do before your workouts is stretching and warming exercises. When you do stretching and warming exercises then you can reduce risk of injuries.

      One of the best way to increase your running speed to change the speed for a week. If you are running at a normal speed then you can increase your running speed by 10% the following week. But, if you follow this pattern regularly then you might observe good changes and better improvement in your running.
