    Runners Diet – Top 5 Rules

    Runners diet should contain all the elements of food in a proper amounts. There are some eating rules which runners have to follow to have a balanced diet.

    The top five eating rules of runners diet are mentioned below.

    Unprocessed foods

    • It is better you store all the foods that are needed. Make sure that your food contains good amounts of proteins and nutrients.
    • Foods such as lean meat, vegetables, fish and fruits are fibrous and are rich in nutrients. It is advisable to reduce the consumption of processed foods.

    Small meals
    It is not necessary that you have a food in large amounts rather you could consume food in small amounts throughout the day. You need more amount of calories since all the calories are burnt while running. So, it is advisable to consume small amounts of foods many a times in a day. Experts advise the runners to consume small meals three to four times a day.

    Protein levels in your food
    Protein is very much helpful when it comes to repairing the damaged tissues while your training. You should make up 15% of proteins for your body to have a good balance.

    Never deny foods
    One of the common mistake that runners make is they try to deny the foods which they like due to several reasons. One of the common reasons is, the foods they like might contain high fats and cholesterol. You are advisable to consume the foods which you like in small proportions rather than avoiding them.

    You can try mixing your foods

    • Never try to eat only fixed or selected foods. You might feel boring when you consume your foods. Most of the runners are advisable to consume pasta as it is rich in fibers.
    • For few of the runners pasta might become staple food. You can try out others along with your regular foods by mixing. You shall mix out the foods that are rich in carbs to balance your nutrition levels.
