    Does running stretches really help in improving the performance?

    • Yes. Running stretches helps in improving your performance in a better manner. Stretching plays an important role when it comes to running. It becomes prominent during recovery from an injury.
    • Stretching becomes apart of training for the athletes. As athletes appear for highly competitive races they are given a lot of training and practice. Stretching helps you to relax your muscles and also helps in increasing your flexibility.

    When to go for stretching?

    • You need to know that stretching cannot be done before running. It is advisable to stretch only after warm up. Muscles might be contracted if you go for stretching without any warm up.
    • Stretching can be done after warming your body to avoid internal injuries like ligaments torn etc. Soon after warm up your muscles become loose and relaxed and then you can go for stretching.

    Stretching works

    • When you go for stretching all the wastes are removed from your body and are replaced by the nutrients. Stretching works well by preventing tightening of muscles. In case, you go for hard workouts during running then there are chances for muscle cramps.
    • If you do not go for stretching, soon after your hard workouts, then you might face some problems. If you rest for about an hour soon after your run then you might face problem standing erect. That is the main reason why stretching is advised soon after the run.

    How to stretch?
    It is advisable to stretch only till your muscles are relaxed and you are relieved from your body pains. If your body is over stretched then you might be under stress. There are various types of stretches which helps you to relax your mucles and even your body. The basic stretches are mentioned below.

    Some of the common stretches which should be done soon after the running are mentioned below. These stretches shall help you the risk of body pains and even injuries.

    • Calf stretching
    • Heel tendons
    • Hamstrings
    • Quadriceps
    • Lower back stretching
