    Most of the workouts in speed training are strenuous. A few of the strenuous workouts that help you in improving your running speed are mentioned below.

    A few workouts for speed training are detailed below.

    • Running stairs
      Running stairs helps you to get physical strength that helps you to make your long runs easier. When you run stairs then you might be strained but while running on the stairs you gain stamina that helps you to remain physically fit. If you want to improve your physical fitness, especially in your calf muscles then running stairs might help you better for your sport.
    • Running up hill
      Most of the marathon runners usually prefer hill running. Experts says that, there will be a lot of pain in the shin bone when you go for hill running. If you are running up hill, then you need to take some proper measures before starting your run. Initially you might face some problems while running up hill but, running up hill helps you to improve your running speed.
    • Running down hill
      Running down hill might not be as strenuous as running up hill. Running down hill helps you to relax your muscles from the strain. When you go for hard workouts while running then you might suffer from a lot of body pains especially pains in your shin bone, calf muscles and knee pain.
    • Start off your training with a warm up
      Soon before starting your run, you can start with warm up. Your muscles will be tight in the morning before running. So, it is advisable to do warm up before and after the run to make your muscles loose and avoid cramps in muscles. This helps to improve your speed by avoiding cramps during your run.
    • Stretching
      Stretching exercises help you a lot in improving your speed for your running. This helps you to relax your muscles during your run.
    • Proper form
      A proper posture plays a prominent role when you go for running. If you do not have a proper form during your run, then you might have to face a lot of problems.
    • Drills
      Proper drills are also necessary when it comes to speed training. Drill exercises should be done at least for about 15min to improve speed.
