    Fasting and yoga always go hand in hand. Fasting is the most important feature of Yoga for the growth of spiritual aspirant. This is so because Yoga is very effective in seeking the purification. One without other leaves a void; it causes an imbalance on one level or the other. Thus, fasting is an important facet for disease cures and staying healthy in Yoga.

    Many people are learning the trick of curing the nervous spells, headaches, cold and other severe health problems just by going on short fast or skipping few meals. This is the most effective and easiest way to relieve the overloaded toxic system. You may be surprised to know how the little food you need actually keeps you hearty and hale. People often complain that they lose their appetite when they are sick.

    In fact, it might be the blessing to people to lose appetite long enough for rediscovering the pangs of hunger. Loss of hunger is the symptom that your system is overloaded with toxins. This is the nature’s way of setting things right by flushing out the toxins from the body.

    Fasting as a remedy is the completely balanced with the nature-cure philosophy. If the loss of appetite is due to abnormal accumulation of toxins and pollutants in the body, fasting helps in eliminating them. Stomach and intestine linings which act as a sponge for absorbing food materials, will get squeezed sufficient for disposing the waste matter from system.

    People think that they should take complete rest when they are practicing prolonged fast, but this is a misconception. You can do your daily routines until they do not strain your mind and body to the point of exhaustion.

    In fact, yoga and fasting perfectly complement’s each other. Stretching, gentle moving and twisting together with deep breathing exercises, accelerates the process of detoxification. Yoga practice is very beneficial if you can detox more toxins from the system and clear the energy channels. This is very effective both in terms of long and short fasting. It also makes detox process very easy. During fasting, you are supposed to take some pills, herbs and powders which facilitate in the elimination of toxins.
