Fast 5 diet is way of eating within five consecutive hours and fasting for the rest of the hours. In previous article (part I) we have given a few frequently asked questions about Fast 5 diet. In this article, we are continuing the section with few more frequently asked questions.

    Q) How and when can I see weightloss with fast 5 diet plan?

Answer: Fast 5 diet is not very quick process of weight loss. It is effective, powerful and sustainable way of losing weight but it takes some time to achieve it. Actually in the block “What to expect from the diet”, it is written that one cannot have substantial weight loss in the first 3 weeks of the diet plan. After continuing for 3 weeks fast 5 program can give weightloss of a pound per week. Losing one pound per week is much faster for some people.

It should be noted that this loss of weight may not be evenly for every week from week to week. It can be two pounds per week or more. For some people the weight loss can be even in the first 3 weeks.

    Q) In fast five diet one needs to eat everything you need to in order to get all the nutrients for survival. Wouldn’t it be extremely stuffed up for that period of time?

Answer: No. It would not be stuffed. Consider this: We need food for two reasons:

    • For fuel, that is, to supply the bodily functions
    • For structure, that is, to replace the spare parts of what is used

Contemplating on the first point yes we need fuel, but food is already stored in bodies. As we fast and we do not need to eat more than that. At certain point the body has ‘eat’ the stored fuel.

Considering the second point our body is very good at recycling. When cells or other parts of the cells grow old, their parts are largely reused. This does not fits good to people children, pregnant women or those who are breast feeding.

    Q) Iam hungry all day long some days? What can help?

Answer: Fast fivers who take high carbohydrate diet such as rice, bread, potatoes or pista usually lead to more hunger the following days. Increased hunger may also mean fast fiver is about to start dropping weight again. So it will be better if you lesson such diets.

    Q) Can I put lemon juice in my water or tea that I drink during fasting period?

Answer: Yes. It is no problem if you use lemon. It does not have enough calories to have any effect.
