    Jentezen Franklin is the senior pastor of Free Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia. He is also a renowned author. He wrote the New York Times bestseller, “Right People, Right Place, Right Plan And Fasting”. His ministry has been extended by broadcasting in TV shows. Jentezen Franklin opened a second Free Chapel in Irvine, California in 2007. He started preaching about the significance of fasting and prayer. He believes that, both of them combined together will get you closer to God.

    Jentezen Fasting: Jentezen preaches that fasting was not forced on people but it is a principle of God. In doing so we have the chance to attain higher spiritual benefits and gain solace in ourselves. It is not a punishment imposed by God, rather its a privilege to do it. Apart from spiritual gains, fasting also helps in all the scientific aspects of human functioning. There are many such points which have been quoted by him, which has highly influenced people in taking up fasting. Apart from the spiritual blessings, he also accentuates on the practical benefits we gain by fasting.

    Jentezen also highlights the aspect of giving more attention to prayers while we are fasting. His prayers are always directed towards leadership and finances. He says a good leader can always bring good comforts to the people he rules.

    Jentezen organizes a mass fast every January which attracts large crowds. He states by starting the year with a fast, the life of the people will be much more cherished and peaceful. The fast lasts for 21 days and is combined with prayer.
