Fasting helps in cleansing the body. It gives rest to the digestive system. There are many types of fasting. Among them fruit and veggie fasting also helps person to mantain good health. This article gives you some tips to follow.

People who want to follow fruit and veggies fasting should take at least nine servings a day. It’s difficult for an average American to go for nine servings. Try the following ten tips.

    Start with vegetables:
Start your meal with large amount of green beans, salad, or a stock of broccoli before you serve anything on your plate. After eating vegetables you can add other foods to your meal. Since you are eating veggies first, you may tend to eat more because of hunger.

    Make a mixed salad
Take 7 ounce bag of lettuce. Add a diced apple, a quarter cup of raisins and a sliced tomato. This makes it to four servings.

    Keep it convenient:
Buy precut vegetables or slice vegetables and place them in the fridge in bowl of cold water. Eat canned fruits so that you can go for more servings. In order to provide more serving take it in the form of unsweetened syrup. Mandarin orange segments in salads and canned peaches in icecream is also an excellent source. You can try frozen vegetables too. Add them into stews or soups without defrosting.

    Drink them:
Whole fruit contains high quantity of fiber. Canned vegetable and fruit juice do not give the same amount of fiber as whole fruit but it can provide one or two servings a day. For an afternoon snack add small can of tomato juice or a cup of berries, a banana and little fat free yogurt into the blender. It gives three servings.

    Get them on pizza:
Instead of taking pepperoni order for a vegetable pizza. You will get roasted, sweet vegetables with each slice.

Try to use potato puree in place of cream to thicken soups. Add grated carrots to spaghetti or lasagna sauce.

All these servings helps in successful fasting.
