    What is the 21 days Fasting?

    “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.”

    – Daniel in Chapter 10:2,3.

    The 21 days fasting also known as Daniel Fasting is becoming popular among the Christian Men and Women to start the novel practice of Fasting to experience spiritual bliss.This article tries to understand about the 21 days Fasting.

    What is Daniel Fasting?

    • Daniel fast involves eating only fruits and vegetables and abstaining from meat products for a certain period of time.
    • It is mostly observed in the beginning of a new year,mostly on the first Sunday of the year.
    • It was started by Daniel when he along with his three friends were deported to Babylon when Nebuchadnezzar conquered Judah.
    • As the Bible nowhere commands its followers to observe this Fasting,it is however a matter of choice for the Christians to observe Danial Fasting.

    Preparations required before observing 21 days fasting:

    • There are several resources available for the food items and the diet program we need to follow during this fasting.
    • People while fasting for the first time experience temporary physical and mental discomforts like dizziness,weakness,impatience and anxiety respectively.
    • Fasting is an activity where the body burns the fats to produce energy for the metabolic activities.
    • It requires very less physical activities from our side as the major organs of our body get a much deserved rest.

    Advantages of Daniel Fasting:

    • It spiritually strengthen our faith in god.
    • It physiologically provides rest to the vital organs of our body and the body rejuvenates on breaking the fast.
    • It medically causes our body become immune from harmful toxins.
